Supporting The Prince of Wales is a very important part of The Duchess of Cornwall’s role.
Since becoming The Duchess of Cornwall, Her Royal Highness has joined The Prince in representing the UK’s interests abroad and also on many of His Royal Highness’s engagements in the UK.
In the year 2007 - 08, Her Royal Highness attended 201 official engagements, with 50 of these overseas. Last year her convalescence after a major operation led to a reduction in her total number of public engagements.
The Duchess supports The Prince in his work for The Prince’s Charities, a group of 20 charities of which His Royal Highness is President, and often attends events to help The Prince raise the £122 million needed to fund them annually.
